Inspirations Dreams
are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped
possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born. .................................. What
we see depends mainly on what we look for. .................................. Yoga
is the stilling of the mind's wavering. .................................. My
greatest wish--other than salvation--was to have a book. A long book with a never-ending
story. One that I could read again and again, with new eyes and fresh understanding
each time. .................................. Strength
is a skill. .................................. The
sum total of the habits of a man is his nature. It has come about as a result
of his giving himself over to the bent of his mind. .................................. But
the old habits can be eradicated through new ones! In other words, nature can
be changed through nurture. An earnest and persistent attempt at the change
of nature is Abhyasa or practice. .................................. Be
a lamp to yourself. Be your own confidence. Hold on to the truth within
yourself as to the only truth. ..................................
I don't believe people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they
are looking for the experience of being alive. ..................................
In
serenity, we accept that which cannot be changed; With courage, we change
that which can be changed; God grant us wisdom to know the difference. ..................................
The
physical world, including our bodies, is a response of the observer. We create
our bodies as we create the experience of our world. ..................................
My
destination is in each step. ..................................
Each
of your habits creates a specific 'groove', or pathway, in the brain. These patterns
make you behave in a certain way, often against your wish... In that sense you
are not a free person; you are more or less a victim of the habits you have formed.
But you can neutralize the dictates of those bad habits. How? By creating brain
patterns of opposite good habits. ..................................
Go
on saying, "I am free." Never mind if the next moment delusion comes
and says, "I am bound." Dehypnotize the whole thing. ..................................
Ashtanga
yoga is 99 percent practice, one percent theory. .................................. Before
you've practiced, the theory is useless. After you've practiced, the theory
is obvious. |
